Bedroom 2

Also remodeled in 2017-2020 by Robin Bardo, this bedroom was given a face-lift with removal of the wallpaper, fresh paint, another color pulled from the exterior stone, and the installation of gas logs in the fireplace.

Amanda + Ernest Brant described the room in a document estimated to be from the 1991 Muncy Home Tour: Interesting fireplace, hand carved accordion pleated design. All floors other than dining and living rooms are original. Double faced door in exit hall. Windows were added later - many of the glass window panes are original. (This description included a hand-written note pointing to the fireplace accordion design reference - noting "my grandmother - Ione Belles Lose's wedding dress & parasol.")

Bruce Saunders; owner of HOMS from 2000 to 2017 describes the room in his historical accounting dated 2016: Second Floor Bedroom and Exit: Descending to the "second" story of original part of the house is a bedroom and bathroom to the left. The bedroom fireplace and hearth are original. The room is at ground level to the hillside in back of the house. The tilted walls and windows show how the house settled (long since stabilized) to the west over the years, due to its construction on the Marcellus Shale, which is very soft.

The exit doorway at ground level contains a second circle of nails and cross. Two of the doorways on this floor open to winder staircases; one leads down to the root cellar; the other up to the third floor. Behind a third door is a washer/dryer installed in 2008, this is the first ever in this house in over 200 years!
